The USS Fortuna is transporting a menagerie of Earth animals to the interplanetary zoo on Vuclan.

Shortly after departing from Earth, and overnight, mysterious disturbances begin occurring; knocked-over vases, chewed cables and even holes which appear to be eaten through the ship's tritanium bulkheads.

The source of the disturbances is identified to be a tachyonic entity, capable of subspace transportation and matter disassembly, abilities which is it using to teleport around the Fortuna and devour its hull.

Meanwhile, the zoo specimens are running amok!

With four hours until the Fortuna experiences total structural failure, the bridge crew develops a plan to captures the intruder in a stable physical form, fabricating a tachyonic stabilizer from a phase rife and telepathically shaping the entity into a harmless, feline form after baiting it with a particularly delicious tritanium isotope.

Despite the ship being riddled with holes and feces from the zoo that was unleashed during the incident, the Fortuna successfully arrives at Vulcan and delivering the Earth animals. All the while receiving judgment from the Vulcan zookeepers send to collect the animals from the ship.
